The 2025 course of the CAS of Biobanking of the Faculty of Medicine at the Geneva University is now open for registration.

- The Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in Biobanking of the Faculty of Medicine at the Geneva University has been developed by 4 partners, The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Geneva, the Institut Pasteur, the Swiss Biobanking platform and the HSeT Foundation. This training aims to develop the knowledge and skills necessary for establishing and managing a biobank. Its goal is to enhance the quality, management, and networking of biobanks in clinical laboratory, medicine, and research. The objectives are the following:
- Acquire the knowledge and competencies required for the set-up, implementation, and day-to-day management of a biobank
- Speak a common language in the field of biobanks and gain in-depth comprehension of the different types and functions of biobanks, with the aim of understanding and designing the different steps involved in setting up a biobank in a specific context.
- Develop the skills required to design the practical implementation, day-to-day management, and continuous improvement of biobanking management, by applying the concepts covered in practical case studies.
- After completing the entire CAS consisting of three modules, and successfully passing the final exam, the trainees will receive a certificat from the University of Geneva with 12 ECTS corresponding to 360 hours of study. Participants can also choose to follow individual modules for which certificates of participation will be provided by the University of Geneva.

- Complete CAS: CHF 6’000

- Module 2: CHF 2’000;
