HSeT provides Customized On-Line Training (COLT) for training organizations and institutions. HSeT’s programs, comprising course content, learning activities and self-assessments, are customized to the needs of specific groups of trainees as defined by the training organizations and are delivered via institution-specific websites. They are designed to be used in a flexible manner to augment an existing curriculum or construct a new curriculum. They can be reviewed by learners in a self-directed manner or in combination with traditional face-to-face teaching as decided by the training organizations.
HSeT’s programs are associated with discussion forums for teacher/student interactions and student/student interactions during group activities. HSeT’s programs are supported by a learning managing system (LMS) that allows course organizers to map student’s individual progress at every step.
- Course content consists of media-rich web pages, including text on specific topics, illustrations, animations, and links to scientific literature.
- Animations provide stepwise depictions of key dynamic biological processes.
- Learning activities. HSeT provides novel pedagogical approaches and tools to help trainers make the most of their teaching.
- Self-assessments. The objectives of self-assessments include evaluation of one’s strengths and weaknesses, the acquisition of a deeper understanding of personal abilities, setting achievable goals for improvement, and identifying areas for advancing professional development.
